Halloween is an extra special day for me. I start planning my costumes months in advance, thinking through the details and picking accessories. Then, inevitably, some unforseen financial burden rears its ugly head and I end up having to use one of the old standbys: Vampire, witch, zombie. As per usual, that has happened this year and I'm being faced with the same choices. I suppose I'll be a vampire this year because I was supposed to be one last year but ended up being a witch instead. Also, I already have tons of clothes for it, and the teeth. Ahem.
But October isn't all about costumes for me, though that is a huge part. It's about candy and sharing and spooky movies and haunted houses and embracing the kid in all of us. In that spirit, David and I are going to The Vortex (http://www.vortexrep.org/) on Friday night to experience "The Shocker." It's a tour through the building with spooks and surprises, and holds the tongue-in-cheek tagline of "Be careful where you put your fingers...." I'll post a full review afterwards.
