So I'm Pretty Freaking Excited

Last weekend, David joined a role playing group that was already being run by one of his friends from work. I was supposed to join also, but due to extenuating circumstances, the closest I got was getting to hang out for awhile during the last half hour of the game before I took him home.  But let me tell you, it was pretty freaking sweet.

The group (run by our friend Tristan) was playing Vampire: The Requiem, but there were a few characters from Changeling. I thought it was pretty inventive for him to incorporate the two sects, but not a long shot as they're both part of the World of Darkness series by White Wolf and run on the same die-ten system.  Still though, I hadn't played in a game like this before and it was a lot of fun to watch.  Tristan and his wife, Rachel, were both running Russian characters and their chemistry was excellent.  Their exchanges were hilarious.  Just sitting to the side as the game unfolded was enough to entertain me.  Usually, this isn't the case.  If I'm not playing the game, it's bloody boring to watch.  But not this time.  I'm excited to make my character so I can join in next time.  Tristan is going to create an elaborate story for my Embrace.

So I'm going to be a vampire.  My character and David's (who is a changeling) are going to have some sort of twisted romance thing going on.  I haven't thought too much on what kind of vamp I want to be.  For all I know, Tristan might have a specific set of rules for character creation that I don't know about.  What I do know is that he's excited to have another female on board.  For the longest time the only woman in his campaign has been his wife, so my presence should add a nice new flavor to the interactions.

Anyway, I can't wait.  As soon as I can get David to sketch up my character I'll post it and my character sheet here.  It'll be nice to play something besides D&D for a change.
